Blue Island Divers offers SSI dive courses in Roatan, for beginner divers all the way up to aspiring dive professionals. We offer Roatan dive packages for scuba intro courses, advanced diving in Roatan, first time diving experiences, and more. We keep scuba course groups small and work hard to make sure you always feel comfortable and safe. Learn to dive in Roatan with an Open Water certification, or choose from a range of advanced and specialty courses.

With some outfitters, you’ll be crowded in with many other students, but we always keep our groups small. Your skills lessons will also take place out on the reef in a sandy area, not in a swimming pool, so you will still get to enjoy the beauty of the dives during your lessons. My wife and I just returned from a one week dive trip with friends. This was my wife’s first trip since receiving her open water certification this spring. Everyone associated with the dive center was amazing and ensured that our time spent diving was safe, fun, and absolutely stunning. Captain Samir, was fun while being very professional, dive leader Carmen was a fantastic guide on the reef and made both my wife and I feel comfortable and safe on all of our dives. Dive leaders Daniel and Javiera were also excellent when they led dives. The lodging manager, Gris, made sure we had everything we needed and made great after dive cocktails in the afternoon. Everyone who loves to dive should spend time diving on Roatan. When planning a trip, Blue Island Divers will ensure that your time spent diving is the best it can be. We can’t wait to return.

Choosing B.I.D. As my initial training site was one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time!! The staff were amazing! Eric provided great communication throughout the course. Mica was very thorough with her instructions and crystal clear with what she expected from me. Everyone (Grace, Zamir, Stephen, Carmen, Ivan) pitched in to make this experience unforgettable.

I visited West End and West Bay during my trip. And I am glad that I chose B.I.D. Sandy Bay. I will definitely return to dive here

I did the SSI open water course. You learn so much it could be a bit overwhelming, but the staff are so professional, patient, and they have your safety their highest priority, they make it fun and enjoyable. The sights where they take you are incredible

We stayed and dove with Blue Island Divers (BID) in early January 2026. Everything was just as promised by BID. The staff were all very good and helpful, management was accessible, and the property was very tidy. The accommodations were nice and just what we needed. I found the bed to be very comfortable. The location was fantastic and the access to the reef was excellent--we rarely spent more than 10 minutes going to our dive site. The boat capitans and dive masters were awesome and interesting people! It was also not far from town so we could dive in the morning and explore in the afternoon very easily by taking a taxi into town.
There is a restaurant just by the BID location which is run by really nice and interesting people and their food is very good.
I would definitely stay and dive with BID again!

We booked a single dive as we were in port on a cruise ship and that’s all our schedule allowed for. The staff here was amazing! The beach is super clean and the dive center was clean, welcoming and comfortable.
Our dive master Armando was fabulous! I’m a fairly new diver and he gave me some great advice and tips to work on. The reef was beautiful. He even took some underwater pictures and shared them with us!

I did not stay in a room here, but the grounds are very clean and organized. The staff is safety conscious and very professional. I completed my deep specialty with them. Received top notch instructions. Got good feedback from my instructor Carmen.

My husband, 11-year-old son, and I chose Blue Island Divers for our snorkeling excursion in Roatan, and we couldn’t have made a better choice!

Our guide, Paco, was incredible!! So knowledgeable about all of the marine life and sea creatures, and he made sure we felt completely comfortable and safe the entire time. He pointed out so many amazing things we would have never noticed on our own and really made the experience unforgettable.

Alton, our boat driver, took us to some of the most beautiful reef sites the island has to offer. Truly breathtaking spots that felt untouched and vibrant.

The entire experience felt more personal, relaxed, and authentic than the typical tourist excursions.Highly recommend Blue Island Divers, we’ll absolutely be back next time we’re in Roatan!

My wife and I did not stay here, but came as casual divers. This is a very well-run business, providing all relevant information on their website, having comfortable facilities, and excellent attention from owners and staff. Location and access to water is a great feature. We enjoyed our dives there, and highly recommend it.

We are spoiled with this find! Top notch service by all the staff - special shout out to Dive Master Daniel & Captain Samir! The dives are amazing in Roatan but your dive master and captain can make all the difference. Each dive was unique and gave us a well rounded adventure throughout our time here. This is our second year in a row with Blue Island Divers and will be hard to go any place else. Highly recommend!!!

We had the best time at Blue Island Divers. The rooms were way better than I thought they were going to be. Diving was amazing. Carmen and Daniel were delightful. We are already planning for our next trip back. Samir’s singing was the best.

Lovely, quiet getaway for taking in few days of diving before headed home. Comfortable little cabins in a romantic setting. Cute little bar with great views, and access to some amazing dives. Including the Odyssey which is only 5 minutes away. Can't think of a better way to wrap up our trip. The frozen diver, is a blended mojito with coconut cream, Yum! A wonderful accompaniment to a beautiful sunset and a few games of chess.

In early December 2023, we stayed at Blue Island Divers in a cozy condo called Casita Azul for twelve days. It had everything we needed - a small kitchen, a nice shower, and a big comfortable bed. Gris, the office manager, was always there to help us with any questions or needs. The place also had a good restaurant called "Thirsty Bar & Restaurant" and a bar inside the dive shop where Gris made awesome drinks for us.
The diving experience was amazing! Carmen and Dani did a great job showing us everything you can find underwater, especially the tiny creatures that are hard to spot for beginners. Our Captain, Zamir, made sure everyone stayed safe and kept the mood light with his jokes. The fun vibe on the boat made every trip awesome.
We highly recommend staying at Blue Island Divers.
